With two kids and an age that might suggest it's time to "grow up," I rebelled and decided I can still learn something fun and "cool." And so began the era of "new half-year = new hobby."
There wasn't the right space for roller skates, I enjoyed longboarding, but I was embarrassed to ride it during the day, and the kids never really got into skateboarding; music was interesting, but it didn't have the right physical effect.
That's when I first noticed the "jump rope" ads and started watching various videos, and along with the jump rope I bought my son for PE class, I also got my first plain one with bearings. I jumped on it a little, but didn't really commit to it, and it gathered more dust than use. Then that magic word appeared: "BEADS." I convinced myself that with beads I'd definitely start training properly, and I bought that "miracle jump rope."
I started practicing my first tricks. At first it didn't work, I kept getting tangled up every other moment, but gradually I started improving. Tricks that seemed unreachable are becoming part of my regular training. My fitness is improving, and I can chase around with my kids and have fun even at the playground while waiting...
I always have my jump rope with me.
It's been more than a year now, and I don't need to look for another hobby 🥰 Now I just need to find room for all my jump ropes 😅
